OUR MISSION
Confident Girls Rising is a nonprofit501(c)(3) organization based in Guilford County, NC. Our mission is to empower young girls and women to become confident, resilient, and successful individuals. Through various programs and initiatives, we aim to provide them with the necessary tools, resources, and support to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. We believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to thrive and we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where they can grow, learn, and flourish.
WHAT INSPIRED CONFIDENT GIRLS RISING?
In 2021, with the assistance of school staff, Diyana Azlan created a weekly mentorship program for fifth to eighth grade girls called Guilford Girls. The purpose of the program was to provide a safe space for girls to seek guidance from a female role model such as a first responder or teacher. The program grew from only a few girls to approximately 50. Due to the implementation of the Guilford Girls program, staff observed vast changes in their school environment. Administration has observed a decrease in physical/verbal fights and bullying in their school.
In 2023, we formed Confident Girls Rising, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to expanding and uplifting our youth. Our mission is to empower young girls by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in every aspect of their lives. We expanded our services to provide Guilford County Schools with school-based programs. Since 2023, Confident Girls Rising at Greensboro SCALE Academy equips at-risk youth with the necessary tools and resources to flourish and succeed. We believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach her full potential, regardless of her circumstances.
In addition to our ongoing school-based program, we have expanded our reach to include community-based initiatives. Our newest program, Project LeadHERship, is designed specifically for middle school girls in Guilford County.
Project LeadHERship aims to empower young girls by providing them with essential leadership development and life skills management training. We believe that nurturing these skills at a young age will equip them to tackle challenges and excel in their future endeavors.
Empowering girls is essential for fostering a brighter future not only for them but for our entire community. By providing them with the resources, support, and opportunities they need, we can help them to thrive and achieve their dreams.

Your tax-deductible gift will be used to purchase supplies for weekly mentorship meetings, fund educational field trips, and provide school supplies for the entire school year for the Guilford Girls and Ladies of SCALE Greensboro Academy Program.
